CURRICULUM
Our curriculum at Walton Montessori Nursery combines the Montessori philosophy with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to offer a well-rounded, child-centered learning experience. Through hands-on, self-directed activities, children develop critical skills in language, maths, science, and the arts, while also building social and emotional confidence. Each child’s curiosity is nurtured in an environment designed to promote independence and creativity, preparing them for a smooth transition to school.

The nursery operates on strict staff to child ratios. We are also limited in the number of children who can be in attendance one at a time. The nursery will always try to meet your needs for extra time, and you should speak to the nursery manager to see if we have availability.
We combine Montessori’s hands-on, child-led learning principles with the structure of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring children gain skills for school readiness.
Following the Montessori philosophy allows us to individually observe the child and capture their interests on a weekly basis, but also by showing the child each resource and presenting to them what is expected, the children know our expectations and feel confident to try what we ask of them.
We provide at least five hours of sessions to help your child feel comfortable and secure before starting full sessions
Yes, we offer 15 and 30 funded hours for eligible families. Please ask us for more information on how to apply.
We follow age-appropriate ratios: 1:3 for babies (3 months to 2 years), 1:5 for toddlers (2 to 3 years), and 1:8 for preschoolers (3 to 5 years).
